we invest in communities
Our Community Partnerships Program is an important initiative that demonstrates our commitment to being a socially and environmentally responsible business.
We proudly support a variety of community and not-for-profit organisations across Australia providing both funding and in-kind support through opportunities for staff to volunteer. Key areas of investment include supporting those who are vulnerable, promoting diversity, environmental sustainability, education and supporting local communities. We believe in doing the right thing by our customers and the community. Volunteering is an important part of our program and we have now increased paid volunteer leave to two days per year.
We offer three tiers of partnerships which includes our Flagship, Community and Staff Partnerships.
Flagship Partnerships 2024 - 2026
We have now commenced our second round of Flagship Partners. These national partnerships allow us to work closely together to build on new and existing long-term relationships, delivering significant community benefits across Australia.
Clontarf Foundation
The Clontarf Foundation believes from little things, big things grow. The foundation exists to improve the education, discipline, life skills, self-esteem and employment prospects of young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men and by doing so equips them to participate more meaningfully in society.
Foodbank
We continue our partnership with Foodbank for a second term, allowing us to strengthen our relationship and continue to make a positive difference in the lives of those in Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia who experience food insecurity and helps our environment to reduce our national food waste problem. Foodbank is Australia’s largest food relief organisation whose mission is to end hunger in Australia. We support our staff to get involved to help fight hunger.
SANE
We are excited to announce our new flagship partner, SANE Australia from 2024 through to 2026. SANE offers connection, support services and information for people with recurring, persistent or complex mental health issues and trauma, and for their families, friends and communities. We look forward to supporting SANE with their amazing work for those in the community who are affected by complex mental health issues.
2024 Community Partners & Sponsorships
Angel Flight is a national charity that provides free flights to assist rural Australians access non-emergency and specialist medical treatment that would otherwise be unavailable to them due to because of vast distance and high travel costs. Our support provides the funding for the cost of fuel to enable the volunteer pilots, who donate their time and aircraft, make these journeys possible.
The Energy Club of WA is an industry network and education resource for the energy sector in Western Australian. AGIG is a Supporting Sponsor of the Next Generation School Program 2024, where students are introduced to the energy industry in a fun, interactive and educational environment.
Girls from Oz uses the performing arts as a hook of engagement to inspire and motivate girls and young women to regularly attend school and to meaningfully and actively participate in their community. This year we are supporting students from the La Grande Remote Community School in Bidyadanga take part in the program, which will culminate with a performance at the Sydney Opera House alongside the Australian Girls Choir.
Guide Dogs SA/NT is committed to providing high-quality integrated services to individuals who are living with low vision, blindness and other specialised needs.
Over the next two years we will be sponsoring a Guide Dog puppy through all stages its placement and training with a client. Apart from regular puppy updates there will be opportunities for staff in South Australia to attend puppy classes, participate in office visits and hopefully a Graduation ceremony.
Guide Dogs WA is the original home of Guide Dogs in Australia. The first professionally trained and registered Guide Dog, Dreena, was brought to Australia from England in 1950 by Dr. Arnold Cook; a visionary West Australian who also happened to be blind.
Over the next two years we will be sponsoring a Guide Dog puppy through all stages its placement and training with a client. We support the important work of The Hutt St Centre in South Australia which helps people facing homelessness to rebuild their lives, without judgement. Each year Hutt St Centre serves up to 40,000 meals and offers social work and support services to nearly 2,000 people. The funding we provide is targeted towards supporting people transitioning off the street into homes, and also providing much needed meals to those in need.
AGIG is proud to be NECA’s first corporate sponsor, helping to raise awareness and provide support to neuroendocrine tumour (NET) patients and their families. 60% of NETs are advanced by the time patients are correctly diagnosed. You can learn more about NETs or join next year’s Walk4NETs below.
As a Bronze Sponsor our support helps both Robogals Melbourne and Monash deliver not-for-profit STEM education programs promoting gender equality by inspiring, engaging and empowering young women into engineering and related fields.
Ronald McDonald House provides a range of programs to help remote and rural families stay together and close to the care they need when a child is diagnosed with a serious illness. We are proudly providing help to allow Ronald McDonald House in South Australia make necessary upgrades to their North Adelaide facilities.
Offering free hair-cutting and grooming for members of the community who are experiencing homelessness Short Back and Sidewalks currently operates in Western Australia, New South Wales, the Northern Territory and Victoria. They offer more than just a haircut providing meaningful connections with clients and enabling visibility for some of the most marginalised members of our communities.
The annual Lester Prize provides an avenue for artists nationally to exhibit works of portraiture in Western Australia. The program includes exhibitions at the Art Gallery of Western Australia and Brookfield Place, outdoor exhibitions, big screen displays, guided tours, floor talks, outdoor pop up events amongst others, and works with Starlight Livewire at the Perth Children's Hospital, aged care residents and schools working towards making positive changes within their communities, including non-English speaking backgrounds and Indigenous groups.
This is the first year AGIG is supporting the amazing work Uniting WA is doing at Tranby Engagement Hub, where meals and clothing essentials are provided, as well as referral services 365 days a year for adults experiencing homelessness in and around the city of Perth.
Zonta House provides safety, essential relief and support to women who have experienced family and domestic violence, including the Positive Pathways program which includes education, skill building, self-care and fostering social connections.
Staff Partnerships
As part of our Staff Partnerships Program, we support our employees support their communities and charitable causes, through our Staff Led Partnerships and Staff Dollar Matching.
Staff are encouraged to identify opportunities to assist local community clubs and charities they are affiliated with, and that align with our Vision and Values, by providing financial assistance through our Staff Led Partnerships program. Priority focus areas include vulnerability, diversity, education, environment and grassroot community groups.
We also support our staff who partake in fundraising events or make donations to Australian based charities by dollar matching their efforts through our Staff Dollar Matching scheme.
Community Partnerships Applications
We provide support to a broad range of state and national community organisations that align with our Vision and Values, and make a positive contribution to communities in areas our business operates. These annual partnerships include financial support and opportunities for employee involvement including community events, education and mentoring programs, and volunteering.
